The Life Support 2 award establishes a proficient level of knowledge and skill to administer Basic Life Support. The award teaches the skills required to demonstrate simulated expired air ventilation on a live casualty and full cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a mannequin, two rescuer CPR, the action to be taken for a vomiting casualty, and the placing of the casualty in the recovery position. Additionally, knowledge will be gained in order to answer 6-8 theory questions regarding the sequence of resuscitation, resuscitation techniques and their differences for adults, children and infants, and action for choking, bleeding, shock, hypothermia and drowning. |
