The Life Support 1 award aims to establish a competent level of knowledge and skill to administer Basic Life Support including the diagnosis and treatment of choking, bleeding and shock.

Product Summary

The award will test:

· Simulated Expired Air Resuscitation

· Full CPR on a mannequin

· Action for vomiting

· Recovery position

· Theory, answer 6 questions

The Life Support 1 award establishes a competent level of knowledge and skill to administer Basic Life Support.

The award teaches the skills required to demonstrate simulated expired air ventilation on a live casualty and full cardio pulmonary resuscitation on a mannequin, the action to be taken for a vomiting casualty, and the placing of the casualty in the recovery position.

Additionally, knowledge will be gained in order to answer 6 theory questions regarding the sequence of resuscitation, resuscitation techniques and their differences for adults, children and infants, and action for choking, bleeding and shock.
