Pool Lifeguarding
Can I wear goggles? You can wear goggles during training, but for examinations, these are not permitted.

Beach Lifeguarding
How old must I be to become a Beach Lifeguard? The NBLQ course is open to candidates aged 16 and over
Do I get paid if I volunteer as a Beach Lifeguard? Volunteers do not get paid.
Do I need to be fit to become a Beach Lifeguard? Yes! The role demands that you are able to respond quickly in the event of an emergency - you will need to be a strong swimmer and in good physical health.
How long does the National Beach Lifeguard Qualification take to complete? We run the courses for 44 hours spread over several weeks. There are also assessments at the end of the course.
How do I become a volunteer Beach Lifeguard? Please come along to training night on a Tuesday evening advertised on the Pool Training page or pop into the HQ during the summer months.
What do I need to bring for Beach Training? You will need to bring along a sensible swimming costume, foot wear and a change of clothes, but see essential information
